Canada air traffic controllers buy hundreds of pizzas for unpaid US counterparts during government shutdown

Canadian air traffic controllers have bought their American counterparts hundreds of pizzas as a show of solidarity during the US government’s partial shutdown. The initiative is said to have first started at Edmonton’s control centre, where workers had a whip round to buy pizzas for controllers in Anchorage, Alaska. Other facilities across Canada decided to join in, and the idea snowballed from there.
