Former Starbucks CEO and Chairman Howard Schultz said he is “seriously considering” vying for the White House in the upcoming 2020 presidential election as a “centrist Independent,” but stopped short of making an official announcement. “We’re living at a most fragile time,” Mr Schultz said in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes aired on Sunday. Mr Schultz’s piqued interest has concerned—and even angered—some Democrats that an independent bid for the White House could help President Donald Trump get re-elected in the 2020 election by siphoning off votes from the Democratic nominee.
